About

Head Engineer (Sound/Video) at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Music and Design (University of Bergen)

I started out playing guitar at a young age and first enjoyed genres like rock and pop. At the same time I also loved to spend a lot of time watching movies and playing video games of all genres. My love for films, both old and new, inspired me to learn about film music, which quickly ended up becoming my biggest passion. In my mind, the way music and film can work together to inspire our emotions and our imagination, is a perfect combination of art forms. The same can be said about games, where sound and music can be interactive and dynamic.

Since 2016 I have aimed to learn, practise and improve my craft. My main goal has been to create original music that tells a story, and effectively conveys the various emotions and moods needed for visual art forms.
During this period, I have also gained valuable practical experience by working on a number of short films and games. Sometimes not only as a music composer and producer, but also as a part of the crew from start to finish.

My biggest musical influences are John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone and Bernard Herrmann. Specifically, John Williams' use of motifs and beautiful traditional orchestrations, Hans Zimmers' innovative soundworlds and Morricone/Herrmann's unique use of instruments and performing techniques.

My main genres are:
"epic orchestral", "ambient", "minimalistic", "traditional orchestral", "trailer music", "rock", "pop" and "jazz".
